    Incoloy 925 Pipe (UNS N09925) — Seamless & Welded

    ASTM B829 / B704 / B983 — sour-service compliant — full MTC including NACE MR0175 stamp

TorqBolt manufactures and supplies Incoloy 925 (UNS N09925) seamless and welded pipe to ASTM B983 (precipitation-hardened plate / sheet / strip used for seam-welded pipe), ASTM B829 (general requirements for nickel-alloy pipe), ASTM B704 (welded pipe) and customer-nominated specifications. All pipe is supplied in the solution-annealed and aged condition (per heat-treatment specification) with 100% hardness inspection ensuring the 35 HRC NACE MR0175 sour-service cap is never exceeded. Used for sour-service production tubing, completion strings, surface flow lines, sour-gas gathering systems, subsea tie-back jumpers, marine service water systems and chemical-processing pressure piping. Every order ships with EN 10204 3.1 manufacturer's MTC documenting actual heat-lot chemistry, mechanical results and heat-treatment cycle; 3.2 third-party witnessed (DNV / Bureau Veritas / Lloyd's / TUV / SGS) on request.

    Sour-Service Pipe Applications

    • Production tubing in sour gas wells with H₂S partial pressure to 1000 psi (per NACE MR0175 Table A.10)
    • Completion strings, production string + injection string for HPHT wells
    • Surface flow lines from wellhead to first separator in sour fields
    • Sour-gas gathering systems, manifolds, headers, branch lines
    • Subsea tie-back jumpers, flow line to manifold connection in deepwater
    • Marine service water systems, firewater, ballast in chloride-rich seawater (see marine applications)
    • Chemical processing, reducing-acid + chloride mixed environments where lower-CRA alloys fail

Why Incoloy 925 Pipe vs Alternatives

    • vs Carbon Steel API 5L: Carbon steel fails by SSC within hours in significant H₂S; Incoloy 925 is qualified to 1000 psi H₂S indefinitely.
    • vs Duplex 2205: 2205 disqualified above 1.5 psi H₂S at 65°C per NACE Table A.21; Incoloy 925 has unrestricted sour envelope.
    • vs Incoloy 825: 825 has lower strength (~45 ksi YS) and is restricted to 15 psi H₂S; 925 is 110 ksi YS qualified to 1000 psi.
    • vs Inconel 625: 625 has unrestricted H₂S envelope but lower strength (~60 ksi YS); 925 wins where strength matters.
    • vs Inconel 718: 718 restricted to 15 psi H₂S; 925 is the qualified choice for sour gas.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Seamless or welded, which is preferred for sour service? Both are NACE MR0175 qualified. Seamless is preferred for HPHT critical-service applications (eliminates the weld failure mode entirely). Welded is preferred for larger diameters (above ~8" NPS, where seamless production becomes impractical) and for cost-sensitive applications. TorqBolt's welded pipe uses INCO-WELD 725NDUR matching-strength filler with full PWHT (anneal + age) to recover joint properties to the parent-metal envelope.

What pressure rating do Incoloy 925 pipes achieve? Per ASME B31.3 with the aged-condition stress allowables, a 4" NPS SCH 80 pipe in Incoloy 925 is rated to ~6,000 psi at 200°F. Specific pressure ratings depend on temperature, service factor and code (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, etc.), we provide stress calculations on request.

What's the typical lead time for Incoloy 925 pipe? Welded pipe (standard sizes): 10–14 weeks. Welded pipe (large diameter or custom): 12–16 weeks. Seamless pipe: 14–18 weeks, longer lead-time reflects limited mill capacity for nickel-alloy seamless production. Cold-pilger reduction can shorten the seamless lead time for small-diameter tubing.

Can Incoloy 925 pipe be supplied to API 5CRA? Yes, API 5CRA covers corrosion-resistant alloy line pipe for the petroleum industry; UNS N09925 is one of the qualified materials. API 5CRA documentation is provided on request alongside the standard ASTM B829 / B704 MTC.
