    Incoloy 925 Sheet & Strip (UNS N09925) — ASTM B983

    Cold-rolled, annealed or aged, sour-service compliant, 2B / BA / polished finishes

TorqBolt supplies Incoloy 925 (UNS N09925) sheet and strip per ASTM B983 Standard Specification for Precipitation-Hardened UNS N09925 Sheet, Plate and Strip. Sheet is cold-rolled to a No. 2B or polished finish in either Class 1 (solution-annealed only) or Class 2 (solution-annealed and aged) condition. Used for pressure-vessel internals, cladding sheet, transition pieces, formed components, gasket facings, valve diaphragms, instrumentation enclosures and seam-welded pipe / tube strip stock. The cold-rolled annealed (BA) finish provides the bright reflective surface specified for sanitary / hygienic applications. Every order ships with EN 10204 3.1 manufacturer's MTC documenting actual heat-lot chemistry, mechanical results and heat-treatment cycle vs ASTM B983, API 6A, NACE MR0175 requirements; 3.2 with TPI witness on request.

    Sheet & Strip Applications

    • Pressure-vessel internals: Demister pads, baffles, vortex breakers in sour-service separators
    • Cladding sheet: Cladding of carbon-steel substrate (3–6 mm clad layer) for cost-effective sour-service vessels via explosive bonding or roll bonding
    • Transition pieces: Welded transitions between dissimilar materials in piping systems
    • Formed components: Cones, dishes, rolled cylinders for downhole tool bodies
    • Gasket facings: Sour-service flange gasket facings; spiral-wound gasket inner / outer rings
    • Valve diaphragms: Diaphragm valves and bellows seals in sour service
    • Instrumentation enclosures: Sour-service pressure-instrument housings, transmitter enclosures
    • Welded-pipe strip stock: Source strip for ASTM B704 welded pipe and tube
    • Spring strip: Cold-rolled aged strip for high-strength corrosion-resistant springs
    • Foil for thin-section bellows / expansion joints: Multi-ply welded bellows in sour service
    • Marine cladding sheet: Splash-zone protection on offshore structures (see marine applications)

    Sour-Service Compliance

    Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between sheet and strip? The distinction is by width and supply form: sheet is supplied as cut flat product (typically >600 mm wide); strip is supplied in coil (typically ≤1500 mm wide, in coil weights up to 5000 kg). Both follow the same ASTM B983 chemistry and mechanical specifications. Strip is usually narrower and used for further fabrication (welded pipe / tube manufacture, formed components, springs).

Can Incoloy 925 sheet be supplied with BA (bright-annealed) finish? Yes, BA finish is a controlled-atmosphere annealing process that yields a near-mirror surface without polishing. Used for sanitary applications (food / pharma processing) and for decorative architectural work. BA finish is supplied in Class 1 (annealed only) condition.

What's the typical lead time for Incoloy 925 sheet? Standard sheet (1 mm to 5 mm thickness, 1000×2000 mm size): 8–12 weeks. Thinner foil or wider sheet: 12–16 weeks. Slit strip from coil stock: 4–6 weeks for held coils. The bottleneck for Class 2 (aged) sheet is the 18-hour age cycle.

Can the sheet be formed without cracking? Yes, in Class 1 (annealed) condition, Incoloy 925 sheet is highly formable (180° bend over 1t mandrel without cracking). For deep-drawn / spun parts, multi-step forming with intermediate annealing is recommended. Aged Class 2 sheet has limited formability (180° over 2t mandrel) and should not be used for parts requiring significant forming.
